IPL Two New Franchises Added - IPL New Teams - IPL update

Indian Premier League is making its way with adding two more teams.

PUNE and KOCHI have joined the IPL.

Sahara Group become the owner of the PUNE franchise after offering a staggering Amount US$370.

The other new franchisee is a consortium of five companies called Rendezvous Sports World, which bid US$333.33m for Kochi

The IPL will now feature 10 teams and - if the current format is retained - a total of 94 games, from the existing 60. After the first season in 2008, the league has already expanded its reach to other centres such as Cuttack, Ahmedabad, Nagpur and Dharamsala.

IPL Strategic Time out - IPL matches - IPL Score

IPL chairman and commissioner Lalit Modi added one more twist in the Third Edition of IPL.

In IPL Season 3 has fixed a five-minute period, split into two equal one for the bowling side and other to batting side.

2 and a half minute time-out mandatory between the sixth and eighth overs while the fielding side would have to take the time-out between the 11th and 16th overs," IPL chairman and commissioner Lalit Modi said.

IPL 3 will begin from 12th March 2010.
