IPL Boost Education For South Africa | IPL Update

Not only IPL is a Money Spinning Tournament but also Boost Education for South Africa.

Modi said hosting the tournament in South Africa was a “huge opportunity to build up the IPL as a global brand” and would bring in an additional 1.5 billion to 2 billion rands ($150-200 million) to the local economy it will also contribute towards education in the country. An eight million rand over $890,000 scholarship programme was announced Friday by IPL Chairman and Commissioner Lalit Modi.

Modi further added 'Talented sports people can become big stars, but without a good education there is something missing from sporting achievement. And for those of us not blessed with outstanding sporting talent, our futures are built on ensuring that we stay in school and equip ourselves for a productive and successful life"

IPL start from 18th April 2009, Defending Champion Rajastham Royal will take Royal Challenger Bangalore at Cape Town.
